Advanced Nurse Practitioners
Baal DuckworthNicole Greenaway
Nicole and Baal are trained nurses who have completed a specific degree course to extend their role to include examining, diagnosing and treating, including prescribing, for a wide range of common health conditions. More advanced care of long term health conditions e.g. diabetes, prevention of coronary heart disease and referring to hospitals and specialists.
Our practice nurse has applicable skills in cervical screening, immunisations (including travel), contraceptive and sexual health advice, wound care and other aspects of physical care of patients in general practice.She is also trained to support the management of long-term conditions such as diabetes, Asthma, COPD, cardiovascular disease and other chronic disease management.
We aim to shortly upskill/recruit an additional member of staff who will provide a variety of physical tests and other aspects of care to support the management of long-term conditions. This may include blood tests, ECG’s, 24-hour blood pressure monitors, injections for adults (influenza/pneumococcal/B12/Shingles), simple wound care, spirometry, diabetic foot care and smoking cessation etc. He/she will work under the supervision of our clinical team.
Aslam’s role is to manage all of the operational aspects of the practice. This includes ensuring that the right systems are in place to provide high quality patient care. It also includes all aspects of Human Resources (HR) finance, premises and equipment and information technology. Aslam support the clinical team and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Our receptionists are the initial contact point for general enquiries. All of our receptionists are trained care navigators and can therefore provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person/organisation depending on your health issue or query. Our receptionists also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
Clinical Pharmacists provide direct patient care that optimizes the use of medication/providing medication reviews/promoting health and wellbeing/disease prevention.
We have recently introduced clinical pharmacists for several sessions each week.
